Terms & Condition
These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Autocare Group Ltd.

2. Bookings
Bookings can be made through our website, online booking system, by telephone or directly with the garage.
All bookings are subject to availability. A requested booking date or time does not guarantee that work will begin or be completed at that exact time unless this has been expressly agreed with us.
From time to time, we may need to change, reschedule or cancel a booking due to operational requirements, staff or equipment availability, parts availability, workload, safety considerations or other circumstances affecting our ability to carry out the booked service.
Where we need to change, reschedule or cancel a booking, we will take reasonable steps to let you know as soon as reasonably practicable and, where appropriate, offer an alternative appointment. We may also refuse or cancel a booking where we reasonably consider that we are unable to undertake the requested work safely or appropriately.
We may contact you if we need further information about your vehicle or the work requested. You are responsible for providing accurate contact details, vehicle details and any relevant information about the vehicle when making a booking.
3. MOT tests
The work included in a service depends on the service package selected. Any advertised service checklist should be read together with the relevant service description.
Vehicle requirements vary depending on manufacturer, model, engine, mileage, age and condition. Where additional parts, fluids or work are required beyond those included in the selected service, additional charges may apply.
We will seek your authorisation before carrying out material additional chargeable work that was not included in the service originally agreed.
4. Servicing
Some vehicle faults require diagnostic work before their cause can be established.
A diagnostic charge covers the diagnostic work, testing and technician time undertaken. Payment for diagnostic work does not guarantee that the underlying fault will always be conclusively identified during the initial diagnostic period. Some faults may be intermittent, complex or require additional testing, dismantling, specialist investigation or further diagnostic time.
Where further investigation or repair is required, we will explain the proposed work and any additional charges before proceeding where reasonably practicable. Nothing in this section affects our obligation to perform diagnostic services with reasonable care and skill.
5. Repairs and diagnostics
6. Estimates and quotations
Prices displayed on our website may be starting prices or indicative prices unless expressly stated otherwise.
An estimate is an indication of the likely cost based on the information available to us at the time and may change if the scope or nature of the work changes.
Where we expressly provide a fixed quotation, the quoted price will apply to the work described in that quotation unless you subsequently authorise additional work or circumstances arise that reasonably change the agreed scope of work. The final cost may depend on factors including the vehicle make and model, engine specification, parts required, oil or fluid specifications and quantities, the nature or extent of a fault, labour required, additional faults identified after work begins and any additional work authorised by you.
Where additional chargeable work becomes necessary, we will normally contact you for authorisation before carrying it out.
7. Parts
Depending on the work being undertaken, availability and customer requirements, we may use genuine/original equipment parts, OEM-equivalent parts or other suitable replacement parts.
If you require a particular manufacturer, brand or type of part, you must tell us before the relevant work begins. Parts may be subject to separate manufacturer or supplier warranty conditions.
8. Customer-supplied parts
We may agree to install parts supplied by you, but we are not obliged to accept customer-supplied parts.
Where we agree to fit a customer-supplied part, our responsibility will generally relate to the quality of the installation work we undertake and not to defects inherent in the supplied part itself.
We may refuse to install any customer-supplied part that we reasonably consider unsuitable, defective, unsafe, of inadequate quality or incompatible with the vehicle.
Additional labour may be chargeable where a customer-supplied part is incorrect, defective or incompatible and consequently needs to be removed, replaced or investigated. Nothing in this section excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Additional Work & Authorisation
Vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs can reveal additional faults or work that could not reasonably have been identified before work began.
Where additional chargeable work is identified, we will normally contact you for approval before proceeding. We will not normally undertake significant additional chargeable work without your authorisation. Where you have given us an agreed spending limit or expressly authorised specified additional work, we may proceed within the scope of that authorisation without seeking separate approval for each individual item.
We may recommend additional work for safety, reliability or maintenance reasons. Recommended work is not automatically authorised merely because we have advised you that it should be carried out.
10. Payment & Vehicle Collection
Payment is due in accordance with the terms agreed with you and will normally be required before or when the vehicle is collected.
We may retain possession of a vehicle where sums properly due for authorised work remain unpaid, to the extent permitted by law. You should collect your vehicle within a reasonable period after we notify you that it is ready for collection.
Where a vehicle is left with us for an unreasonable period after it is ready and we have made reasonable attempts to arrange collection, reasonable storage charges may apply where these have been communicated to you.
11. Delays & Completion Times
We aim to complete work within any estimated timeframe provided.
Unless we expressly confirm otherwise, completion dates and times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Completion may be affected by matters including parts availability, supplier or manufacturer delays, incorrect or defective parts being supplied, unexpected or additional vehicle faults, additional work authorised by you, specialist or third-party work, manufacturer or technical information, staff or equipment availability, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to keep you informed of material delays.
Where a delay results from circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will not ordinarily provide monetary compensation for inconvenience, loss of use of the vehicle, alternative transport, vehicle hire, taxi costs, loss of earnings or other consequential losses arising solely from that delay.
Nothing in this section excludes or restricts your statutory rights, including any rights you may have where a delay results from our breach of contract or failure to provide the service with reasonable care and skill.
12. Customer Cancellations & Changes
If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where parts have been specially ordered at your request, work has already commenced or we have incurred reasonable costs specifically in connection with authorised work, you may be responsible for reasonable costs already incurred where permitted by law.
Certain services agreed remotely may be subject to statutory cancellation rights. Where you specifically request that services begin during an applicable statutory cancellation period, your cancellation rights and the amount payable may be affected once work has begun, as provided by law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory cancellation rights that apply to you.
13. Personal Belongings & Vehicle Contents
Please remove valuables and unnecessary personal belongings from your vehicle before leaving it with us.
You remain responsible for personal items left in your vehicle. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to items left in a vehicle where the loss or damage was not caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Existing Damage & Vehicle Condition
We may inspect and record the condition of a vehicle when it is received, including by taking photographs where appropriate.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, damage, deterioration or defects that were not caused by us. Vehicles and components may have existing wear, corrosion, damage, modifications or deterioration that only becomes apparent when work is undertaken. Working on older, heavily worn, modified, damaged or corroded vehicles or components can sometimes expose existing problems or result in components already in poor condition failing during otherwise reasonable work. Where a significant issue becomes apparent, we will explain it to you where reasonably practicable.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility for damage caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.
15. Warranties & Problems With Work
If you believe there is a problem with work carried out by us, please contact us promptly and provide us with a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and investigate the issue.
Where appropriate, we should normally be given a reasonable opportunity to assess the work before remedial work is arranged elsewhere. Any applicable warranty may depend on the particular part and work supplied and may also be subject to manufacturer or supplier warranty conditions. A warranty does not cover unrelated faults, subsequent damage, normal wear and tear or faults that were not caused by the work or parts supplied by us.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights, including rights relating to services being performed with reasonable care and skill and applicable rights concerning goods or parts supplied.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into or for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control where we have taken reasonable steps to avoid or minimise their effect.
We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, damage, deterioration or defects that were not caused by work undertaken by us. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
17. Collection & Delivery Services
Where we offer vehicle collection or delivery, the service is subject to availability.
Collection and delivery times are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise. Traffic, earlier appointments, vehicle issues and other operational circumstances may affect collection or delivery times. We will take reasonable care of your vehicle while it is in our possession. The availability of collection or delivery does not guarantee a particular completion time for the underlying MOT, service or repair.
18. Website Information
We take reasonable steps to ensure that information on our website is accurate and current. However, prices, service requirements and vehicle specifications can vary.
Website content should not be treated as a vehicle-specific diagnosis, fixed quotation or guarantee unless expressly confirmed by us. Images used on the website may be illustrative.
19. Third-Party Websites & Services
Our website may contain links to or integrations with third-party services such as booking platforms, maps, payment providers, messaging services or other websites.
Those third parties may operate under their own terms, conditions and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or operation of third-party websites or services that are outside our control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
20. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updates to the website Terms & Conditions will apply to future bookings and agreements as appropriate.
The terms applicable to services already agreed with you will be those forming part of the agreement when it was made, except where a change is required by law or subsequently agreed with you.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any rights concerning applicable law or jurisdiction that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Complaints & Contact Us
If you have a question, concern or complaint regarding our services, please contact us so that we have an opportunity to investigate and respond.
